Sustainable Built Environment Tour with U.S. Green Building Council (SOLD OUT)

Join Korinne Haeffel of the U.S. Green Building Council for an immersive tour highlighting Milwaukee’s most innovative sustainable built-environment projects. Weather permitting, the experience will include a walking tour of LEED-certified buildings in the Milwaukee area. Milwaukee is home to exceptional examples of green building, from pioneering mass timber and adaptive reuse projects to high-performance operations and maintenance, including the first project in the United States to earn LEED v5 O+M certification. Through on-the-ground observations and expert insights, Korinne will showcase the strategies, technologies, and community partnerships driving the city’s sustainability progress, offering a firsthand look at how thoughtful design and collaboration are shaping a healthier, more resilient urban future.

Meeting Location Please meet in person at the first site, Ascent MKE, between 9:45–10:00 AM
700 E. Kilbourn Ave., Milwaukee, WI
The tour begins promptly at 10:00 AM.
 
Walking Expectations:
This tour involves a significant amount of walking and standing over four hours, including outdoor segments between sites. Comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are strongly recommended.
 
Security & Entry Requirements – Fiserv Forum:
  • Photo ID is required for entry
  • The group must enter together; late arrivals cannot be accommodated
  • Backpacks and larger bags are likely not permitted

Chicago B Corps Open Doors: Impact Tour

In collaboration with B Local Illinois, enjoy an immersive Impact Tour that will shine a spotlight on Chicago’s vibrant community of Certified B Corporations, including companies like Metric Coffee and Flowers for Dreams. During this multi-stop experience, participants will visit a selection of mission-driven businesses across the city, gaining behind-the-scenes insight into how these companies embed social and environmental impact into their operations.

Please note, transportation is not provided from Milwaukee to Chicago. The tour is timed for attendees to be able to take the 8:05am-9:24am MKE-CHI Amtrak Hiawatha train service, and we've heard from several attendees who are planning to take this trip. Please book on your own.
