About the Summit
The B Network Leader Summit is a dedicated kick-off gathering for B Network Leaders held just ahead of Champions Retreat 2026. This event is a chance to celebrate your work, strengthen our community, and align on what we can accomplish together moving forward. We’re excited to bring together leaders from all B Networks across the U.S. and Canada to:

• Connect and learn from each other
• Get updates from B Lab U.S. & Canada
• Spark ideas for collaboration and impact

The Summit is open to all B Network & B Local board members listed on the roster. We ask that all attendees intend to continue in their board roles through 2026.

This event will be in person in Milwaukee from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, April 20 and 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21. Monday night will be a Q&A with B Lab staff and happy hour. Tuesday will be a half day of content, with agenda and expected outcomes to be announced soon.

To qualify for a discounted ticket to Champions Retreat, B Network Leaders must register for and attend the Summit. At this time, each B Network has access to two Representative tickets for $795 and additional tickets for $995 each. The registration form will ask whether you plan to use one of your B Network’s two representative tickets, the general B Network Leader ticket, or forgo a discount. Please coordinate with your board to decide who will use your network’s two discounted tickets. If you claim a discounted Champions Retreat ticket, we will follow up with a discount code to purchase one.

Who should attend the Summit?
The Summit is open to all B Network & B Locals board members listed on the roster as of December 2025. We ask that all attendees intend to continue in their roles through at least mid-2026. Once you have registered, if you claim a discounted Champions Retreat ticket, we will follow up with a discount code that you can use to purchase your ticket here.

Step away from the daily hustle and reconnect with nature during a guided Forest Bathing experience in the Urban Ecology Center (UEC) Riverside Park urban forest. The experience begins with a brief introduction to the UEC and its mission as a nature‑based community organization, followed by a gentle, sensory‑focused journey outdoors.

Participants will enjoy a mindful stroll that emphasizes sensory exploration and grounding in nature, easing into a guided Forest Bathing experience led through slow, intentional prompts and reflective practices. Forest Bathing is a globally recognized, research‑backed wellness practice shown to reduce stress and cortisol levels, boost mood and immunity, improve focus and emotional balance, and deepen connection to the natural world.

Join us to pause, reset, and experience the restorative power of the forest, creating space and calm before stepping into the full Champions Retreat experience.

• Tour Location: Urban Ecology Center - Riverside Park, 1500 E Park Pl, Milwaukee, WI 53211
• Timing: Official tour start time at UEC is 9:00am. Meet at Hyatt Regency lobby at 8:30am to depart by 8:45 a.m. Look for Jessy Servi Ortiz, who will be holding a sign for the Urban Ecology Center. The excursion will end by 11am, to return to the Hyatt by 11:15am.
• Waivers: The Urban Ecology Center requires a general liability waiver to be completed in advance. We’ll have those printed and ready for you at the meeting spot at Hyatt Regency. There will also be copies for when you arrive.

• Accessibility: The surfaces we'll be traversing during experiences include: pavement, woodchipped trails, dirt trails, with hazards like uneven surfaces, tree roots, and possible branches to navigate around. There will be some inclines along the trail systems as well. All experiences can be facilitated in English, Spanish Translation available upon request.

Start your 2026 Champions Retreat experience with a hands-on, community-focused pre-conference event in partnership with Hunger Task Force, Milwaukee’s leading anti-hunger organization. Participants will help pack nutritious food boxes distributed to families and seniors across Wisconsin, directly supporting the state’s only free and local food bank. Guests will also have an option to meet in the Hunger Task Force kitchen for a cooking workshop making pancakes, including ingredients from B Corps like King Arthur Baking. Participants will also hear from Tru Earth about their giving model, with insights on how to build meaningful partnerships with food banks. This meaningful blend of service and culinary fun offers a memorable way to give back while savoring local flavor.

Know before you go:

• Hunger Task Force requires both liability and media waivers to be completed in order to participate. We will have these printed and ready for you to sign.
• Volunteers must be 16 years or older and able to lift 30+ pounds, with some lifting, twisting, bending, and standing for extended periods. If any of these requirements present a challenge, please let us know — we’re happy to organize accommodations.

Join Alliance for the Great Lakes for an Adopt-a-Beach cleanup along Milwaukee River, meeting at Père Marquette Park! We will work together to remove litter from the park and riverwalk and collect valuable data about what we are finding. This data helps scientists study sources of pollution and helps policy makers develop new programs and policies. At the cleanup, Alliance for the Great Lakes staff will discuss the importance of the Great Lakes ecosystem, issues that impact this ecosystem such as plastic pollution, and how community science programs like Adopt-a-Beach play a role in addressing plastic pollution in the Great Lakes.

Important notes for attendees:

• To participate in the cleanup, you will have to sign off on our Adopt-a-Beach waiver. To make the check-in process more efficient day-of, please register for the cleanup through our website before Tuesday’s cleanup using the link below, which will allow you to sign off on our waiver ahead of Tuesday—thank you very much! Upon doing so, you will also receive an emailed link to complete the Milwaukee County Parks Agreement, which the city requires. • When you arrive, please check in with the site leads, who will be identifiable with Alliance T-Shirts. We will meet near the gazebo structure along the river at Père Marquette Park.
• The Alliance for the Great Lakes will provide all cleanup supplies (bags, gloves, etc.), but if you have reusable gloves you’d like to use, feel free to bring them!
• It doesn’t look like there are public restroom facilities at the park, so please plan accordingly.
• Dress for the weather and bring some water!
• Please wear comfortable closed-toed shoes, and dress to be out in the elements for a couple of hours.
• Please bring a water bottle and sun protection with you as well.
• We’ll conclude cleanup activities around 12pm with a group photo!

There will also be an opportunity for participants to continue conversations and networking at Lakefront Brewery following the cleanup. Please note the kitchen won't be open for food at Lakefront until 3pm, but you are welcome to enjoy a drink and bring in your own food. We hope to see you there!

Before the 2026 Champions Retreat kicks off, guests are invited to join a special pre-conference experience at local B Corporation, Stone Creek Coffee’s Roastery for an immersive look at Milwaukee’s craft coffee culture, paired with a meaningful service opportunity. Participants will tour the roastery, learn about Stone Creek’s commitment to creating remarkable care through ethical sourcing and sustainable production, and enjoy fresh brews straight from the source. After the tour, attendees will roll up their sleeves for a hands-on peanut butter sandwich-making activity to support the Guest House of Milwaukee, preparing meals for individuals experiencing homelessness. This warm, community-centered event blends learning, giving back, and remarkable coffee. We hope you’ll join in on their Never Stop Learning journey.

Stone Creek Coffee's Employee Care Team will present to the Baird Center on Tuesday morning to walk folks over to Stone Creek Coffee's Factory. For those who would prefer not to walk, a member of the Employee Care Team will drive participants to the Factory.

Join Korinne Haeffel of the U.S. Green Building Council for an immersive tour highlighting Milwaukee’s most innovative sustainable built-environment projects. Weather permitting, the experience will include a walking tour of LEED-certified buildings in the Milwaukee area. Milwaukee is home to exceptional examples of green building, from pioneering mass timber and adaptive reuse projects to high-performance operations and maintenance, including the first project in the United States to earn LEED v5 O+M certification. Through on-the-ground observations and expert insights, Korinne will showcase the strategies, technologies, and community partnerships driving the city’s sustainability progress, offering a firsthand look at how thoughtful design and collaboration are shaping a healthier, more resilient urban future.

From there, guests will explore the neighborhood, visiting a selection of outstanding Black-owned businesses that are shaping Bronzeville’s vibrant renaissance. Along the way, you’ll hear stories of entrepreneurship, culture, and community leadership that continue to define the area today.

Join us at Flowers For Dreams in historic Walker’s Point for the floral workshop of your dreams. After a brief behind-the-scenes tour of the studio, participants will be guided through the art and mechanics of designing seasonal event florals. The Flowers For Dreams team will walk you through the key components of floral design — from selecting blooms and incorporating texture to building balanced, eye-catching arrangements. You’ll learn insider tips on color palettes, composition, and the techniques we use to create event-ready pieces.

To make the experience even more special, you’ll be designing arrangements in East Fork pottery vessels for the Opening Reception that evening. Be sure to admire your handiwork (and brag a little) when you see your creation on full display as table centerpieces at the Mitchell Domes. Whether you’re a flower enthusiast or a total beginner, this hands-on workshop is the perfect opportunity to get creative, learn something new, and design something truly beautiful.

Get your hands in the dirt and make a tangible impact in Riverside Park’s Community Garden. Volunteers will help prepare and expand more than 3,000 square feet of garden beds for the upcoming growing season. Activities may include pulling weeds, moving logs, adding nutrient‑rich soil, and repurposing natural materials. This hands‑on service project supports fresh food access, community connection, and long‑term sustainability.

UEC provides all tools, work gloves, staff guidance, and project coordination.

All afternoon experiences come together at the campfire for a shared closing gathering around the fire in one of Milwaukee’s favorite outdoor spaces. The expectations placed on today's leaders seem higher than ever before. In this forum for CEOs and senior executives, we'll explore what it means to lead with courage, integrity, and impact in a rapidly changing world. The B Suite is a facilitated working session for senior leaders navigating real, unresolved leadership dilemmas where values, power, and risk collide. Rather than panels or expert advice, the session introduces two practical leadership lenses and gives participants structured time to apply them to live situations they are actively carrying. The emphasis is on clarity under constraint, responsible decision-making, and boundary-setting in complex environments.

The majority of the session is spent in table-based small group discussion. Designed as an immersive experience rather than a typical conference session, The B Suite blends frameworks, peer exchange, and emergent dialogue to help leaders practice the kind of values-driven leadership that defines the B Corp movement.

Participants leave with peer-tested tools, new partnerships, and renewed clarity about how to embody B Corp values in their companies and communities. The B Suite offers executives a rare space for honest reflection and shared learning—supporting the kind of leadership our times demand.

With so many problems in the world that need our attention, it can feel overwhelming. We want to be a force for good, but we can’t do everything. How do we get in touch with what’s most important and matches up with our capacity right now?
In this interactive networking session, participants will connect across regions, sectors, and roles to get grounded (or re-grounded), consider their current passions, and decide what small part they can play in the larger B Corp movement. 
Led by facilitator Erin Hottenstein of Trebuchet Group and Milwaukee artist Hattie Grimm, this structured networking experience creates a space for participants to pause to explore their values, get to know each other at a deeper level, and co-create a piece of art.

Through guided reflection, small group conversations, large group dialogue, and taking part in an art activity, attendees will:

• Think about what values are calling to them in this moment
• Get in touch with and be inspired by the role each of us can play
• Co-create a living tapestry

We’ll connect and share ideas for taking action, whether it be local efforts or shared momentum across the movement. The visual artifact will remain available throughout Champions Retreat, inviting other participants to visit and add their part.

Participants will leave with:

• New relationships across the B Corp community
• A refreshed sense of identity and purpose
• A shared sense of accountability to ongoing collective action

This session models the belief that when values-aligned leaders come together intentionally and we each take a piece, even small ripples of effort can create waves of systemic change.

Champions Retreat attendees with children are encouraged to arrive early and visit the Mitchell Park Domes ahead of the main group arrival, for a special hour designed just for families. Children can enjoy a special hands-on experience in the Education Center, featuring interactive activities and the chance to see the resident dart frogs. The Children’s Education Center at the Mitchell Park Domes is a hands-on learning space designed to spark curiosity about the natural world in young visitors. It serves as an interactive extension of the Domes’ broader mission to connect the community with nature through engaging educational experiences.

Purpose and experience
The center is built specifically for children of all ages, offering a welcoming environment where families can explore plants, ecosystems, and environmental science in an accessible way. Together, these elements create an informal learning environment that complements the Domes’ tropical, desert, and floral displays.

What families can expect

Join us for an inspiring evening as we kick off the Champions Retreat 2026 with this gathering at Milwaukee's iconic Mitchell Park Domes, a living plant museum with a permanent collection of over 1,800 plant species that represent plant life from across the globe. Attendees will have access to explore the Domes complex throughout the evening — including the Floral Show Dome, Tropical Dome, and Desert Dome, and Greenhouse No. 7. In the myriad of beautiful and vibrant natural spaces within the Domes, we'll connect, celebrate, and set the tone for a transformative few days together.

Wawa is a dynamic climate justice activist, writer and storyteller, and founder and Executive Director of Black Girl Environmentalist, an organization dedicated to addressing the pathway and retention issue in the climate movement for Black girls, women, and gender-expansive people. Wawa has been recognized globally for her leadership and visionary work in expanding access and opportunity within the climate movement. Her voice has resonated across major academic and cultural platforms. Her keynote will ignite our imaginations around what is possible when we work together - exploring how individual and collective action within the B Corp movement can catalyze waves of impact across communities and systems. Expect a message of courage, connection, and forward-looking purpose to launch Champions Retreat with vision, energy and intention.
