About me
Amelia Baxter believes that the 21st century built environment is filled with opportunities for trees. Baxter co-founded WholeTrees, a certified B Corporation, in 2007 to develop and sell products and technologies that would scale the use of under-valued trees in commercial construction while increasing forest revenues. She has led project teams in over $4M in research grants working toward the commercialization of the tree’s natural engineering. Baxter has built a conscious and regenerative company by bringing inspiration to architects via precedent projects and digital tools; building bridges between timber engineering and scaled systems of fabrication; mapping the people and processes needed for scale; pinpointing nascent urban markets for trees as structure; and guiding operations to meet these markets.
