Jim is a triple-bottom-line law firm founder and seasoned legal advisor committed to helping B Corps, public benefit corporations and other mission-driven companies achieve their social and environmental objectives. As a former law firm partner and General Counsel with more than 25 years of top-level experience, Jim advises impact companies on all manner of corporate and commercial matters and acts as a strategic advisor to founders and executive teams, often as Outside General Counsel.  Jim is deeply engaged in the mission-driven business community, serves on the Board and as Events Chair of B Local Mid-Atlantic and is an active member of Real Leaders, the Global Alliance of Impact Lawyers, the American Council on Germany, the Association of Corporate Counsel, and the ABA Corporate Social Responsibility and Middle Market and Small Business Committees.  He speaks and writes frequently on topics of interest to mission-driven companies, including preserving DEI and ESG commitments in the face of legal attacks, employee ownership and using M&A as a force for good.
