About me
Maria McDonald is the Founder and Principal of Footprint Sustainability, a boutique consulting firm that helps mission-driven brands design, measure, and grow their impact. For the past decade, she has worked within and alongside the B Corp community - first leading sustainability in-house at United By Blue, later working with the global B Corp consultancy Anthesis, and now guiding companies through certification, recertification, and the implementation of responsible business models.
Her work integrates B Corp strategy, carbon management, circular business design, EPR and packaging, and impact reporting, helping companies turn sustainability from a compliance exercise into a source of innovation and long-term value. Guided by the B Corp mantra of “business as a force for good,” Maria believes deeply in the power of conscious capitalism and the potential for business to regenerate both people and planet. Elsewhere in B Corp-land, Maria teaches graduate-level sustainable business at the University of Colorado Boulder, including the B Impact Clinic, an applied B Corp class that supports Colorado businesses through certification. She also co-leads the B Corp Circularity Collective.
