About me
Clay Brown is the Chief Standards Officer at B Lab. He leads the development and evolution of B Lab’s standards, certification system, and impact products—including B Corp Certification and B Impact—helping scale credible solutions that enable businesses to create positive social and environmental impact.
Clay has more than 20 years of experience designing and implementing sustainability and certification programs, including leadership roles with Fair Trade USA, FLO-CERT, and the Fairtrade Foundation. His work focuses on strengthening the integrity of standards while ensuring they are commercially viable, widely adopted, and capable of driving meaningful change across the global economy.
Clay has a BA from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an MA in International Relations from the University of Sussex. Clay works out of his home in Wales, United Kingdom.
